It’s time to join the World’s most successful social media website after google.  The facebook phenomenal.  Social had changed the way we communicate and do business in the internet age and facebook is at the full front of this change.  Never seen before a social networking site created for students and friends will turn into mega success.

From humble beginning as a regular meeting and chatting place for high school friends and families to social and networking to super power social media.  Even google is amazed how they accomplish such an enormous success in such a short period of time.  Everybody wants to be on facebook even including small and big businesses.  This is why I encourage people to take advantage of social media, especially if you are in business online.

Facebook is a social media networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by facebook inc.  As of January 2011, Facebook has more than 600 million active users.  Users may create a personal profile.  You can add other users as friends, and exchange messages including automatic notifications when they update their profile.  Founded by computer science students at Harvard by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roomates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskoviz and Chris Hughes.  The site membership was initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but eventually expanded to other students and colleges.

On facebook  users may create and join common interest user groups, organized y work place, niches, school or college.  The site was created to help college students know each other.  At first, Harvard students and then Boston area, the IVY league and Stanford University.  Now as we speak, facebook allow anyone who declares themselves to be at least 13 year old to become a registered user of the website.

A January 2009 lomple Dot Com study ranked facebook as the most used social networking service by Worldwide monthly active users, follow include on its end-of-the decay best-of-the list saying, how on earth did we stalk our exes, remember our co-workers birthdaysbug our friends, and play a rousing game or scrabulous before facebook?  Quantcast estimates facebook has 135.1 million monthly unique U.S visitors in October 2010.
